It is a thing of great shame that the church is rather comfortable gallivanting around her pulpit, and breeding lots of nonentities, who are rather fine with their mediocre way of living shying away from the crux of being a child of a purpose driven father. There are so many Christians lying low, afraid of an ambush, playing it safe, though yearning to walk on the streets of gold but unwilling to represent the kingdom in the zones and strata that matter and control the affairs of this world.
We have stayed so long in our church buildings; we have sat for so long on our high chairs and spoken too much to ourselves. Our Lord did not have a mouth full of water when he prompted us to go into the entire world, yes all the world, every point of influence in this age, be it politics, media, education. To go and hit the nail precisely on the various strategic points, fixing every broken wall.
I once heard a Minister of the Gospel say, “you only work for God, by working in the church.” As true as that statement may seem, the church i believe he meant, was the building and not the people. Many have grown old living solely for the Church “the building,” being diligent ushers, choristers, and wonderful drama ministers, opening and closing the book of their service only at the worship doors. Very pathetic indeed!
There’s a general disregard for Christians in politics, yet we are quick to expect men of unlike minds to deliver fruits alien to their being when they sit and rule. I don’t stand against ushers or choristers, neither am I against the drama minister, as they all play important roles. I dare to say however, never belittle the works of a Christian business man, who can control the finance of a territory to the upliftment of the kingdom, or of a Christian lecturer, who influences the minds of those he oversees in his territory. We also should not look down on the media houses that break the barrier of distance and create platforms that make God-centered media contents readily available to people.
In one of the books of Alice Bailey, an esoteric author which I stumbled upon on the internet. It’s validity as her work I can’t confirm, but its contents are a brutally striking one. It is titled the ten point plan of the new world order, I’ll urge to get your hands on it, and see the gravity of our nonchalance.
Number 1 of the ten points plan says, “Take God and prayer outside the educational system.”
“Change curriculum to ensure that children are freed from the bondage of Christian culture. Why? Because children go to school to be equipped to face life, they are willing to trust and they are willing to value what is being given to them. If you take God out of education, they will unconsciously form a resolve that God is not necessary to face life. They will focus on those things the school counts them worthy to be passed on and they will look at God as an additional, if one can afford the additional.”
Number 8 says “Use media to promote and change mindset.”
The Media is a powerful tool that can be used to promote and change mindset. With the arrival of the internet, lives are changed either for the better or the worse. The internet can be a wonderful and useful friend but with careless handling, it can be a ferocious foe. The media cannot be left untapped; we must utilize every bit of potential that is at our disposal to establish the value system of our kingdom.
Our responsibilities may seem overbearing; the finish line may not seem any closer than it was yesterday. The devil may seem to have the upper hand, but the truth is and forever remains: the battle is won, and the victory has already been secured. Let us take Jesus to the world, let us take him to the streets, be it in business, media, politics, or education, take him there. Or in music, in civil service, the military, at that point where you sell your akara, your salon, where ever it may be, take him there. This is what we have been called to do, let us arm ourselves with the infallible and indestructible amour of Love our God, and break down every stronghold that stands in our way.
